A Little Story of Me

My dream of being a photographer, a storyteller, a milestone documentarian, came from my family. My grandparents would drive across the U.S. in their motorhome and return with disposable film cameras to be developed and cherished in albums. They always had the best stories, and they were brought to life anytime those photo albums came out. My mom was a pretty good photographer, and her perspective of watching us grow up imprinted on me too, because I could see the way she saw us in our family albums.

Those stories, and values held in those albums carried on with me as I grew up, and my hobby for taking pictures was blooming into my passion, and taking me on a rewarding journey to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Brooks Institute of Photography. And then, my passion turned into my career.

It’s been hard work, but absolutely a dream come true to photograph people for a living during the last decade of my life. I could not imagine doing anything else, and I’m truly honored to receive opportunities to preserve the memories these images hold for all my clients.

 I’ve always been a bit rebellious, a bit poetic, and I always knew I wanted to be a photographer, creatively telling stories like yours.

My Approach to Photographing People

For me, this is all about building relationships through my craft. So I like to get to know my wedding couples, my families, anyone I’m photographing really, and see what makes them light up. Finding out what people are passionate about makes me passionate about what I do, and I just don’t believe a photo is going to express who you are if we aren’t talking about it.

When I pick up my camera, my hope is to capture people naturally, as they really are. I might step in to fix a necklace, or straighten a tie to get the details really spot on, but other than that, it’s a party, and you’re the special guest! We’ll do the kinds of poses or actions that speak to you. We’ll pick a location that matches your vibe. We’ll keep shooting until you feel not just good about it, but until you’re having the most fun.

When it comes to weddings and events; my eyes are always watching. I’m looking for small gestures in body language, displays of emotion, places to move to for shot variety, and paying attention to the event so I’m in the right place at the right time. I’m always accommodating to requests for photos and understand that time together is precious, so we need to make the most of it, and if that happens with my help, I’m honored.
